Visit The Way Station

A new type of gathering place

Gather at The Way Station

Whether it’s coffee, tea, snacks or something to do – we invite you to stop by The Way Station, 120 West 4th Street.

Our hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday with church services at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Coffee, tea and snacks

The Way Station is a place to relax and gather with old friends or meet new ones. Come on down and sip on a cup of coffee or tea. We’ve even got an assortment of tasty treats to offer.

All refreshments are available for a freewill donation.

Create custom arts and crafts

Schedule a time or visit us during our open hours to create beautiful custom arts and crafts projects. Our staff will help walk you through the entire process from start to finish. This is the perfect activity for groups large or small.

New projects are featured each month, so keep checking in to see what we’re creating!

Projects are offered for a suggested donation.

Read in Friar Tuck’s Book Nook

Who doesn’t love a good book? At The Way Station, we’ve turned a room into a small library. This is Friar Tuck’s Book Nook, a quiet spot to read a book or work on a project while using our free WiFi.

Here, you can sit down with a book, borrow books and return them later or keep a favorite find. We also accept donated books!

Freewill donations for books are appreciated.

Complete homework or study

Students can use our space to take time and complete their homework and studies.

We have a homework station where students have access to our free WiFi and are able to finish their school-related work and then enjoy our other amenities.

Attend fun events

The Way Station hosts fun events and activities for students from time to time.

Be sure to check our Facebook page for more information!

Have fun in the play room

For younger children, The Way Station has a play room where they can explore and play with a number of different toys or take part in other activities tailored to their age.

Attend our Sunday church services

We’d love to have you join us for one of our two Sunday church services.

The Rev. Beth Preston, Assistant Priest at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake, leads two services every week:

  • Traditional Episcopal prayer book service at 3 p.m.
  • Come and See service at 4:30 p.m.

All are welcome to attend either service. The Come and See Service is an informal service welcoming to seekers and inquirers, where all can contribute, share their stories and enjoy The Way Station community.
